"Ask now of the days that are past" was written in 1964 by Harold J. Patten.  This three hundred and twelve page book documents town history from 1734 until 1964.  You will find an incredible collection of stories and photographs detailing life in our small town.  If you are interested in Tewksbury's history, then this is THE book for you.

The "Ye Towne Book" was created in 1934 for the Two Hundredth Anniversary of the Town of Tewksbury.  The seventy eight page book is the official program for the event containing pictures and stories about our town history.  The book also contains a great collection of sponsor advertisements from local businesses, especially interesting are the number of dairy and produce farms that existed just a short time ago.

In 1873 the Rev. Elias Nason wrote a book entitled Gazetteer of Massachusetts".   This Five Hundred and Seventy Six page book contains descriptions of each Town and City in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.   We have provided his description for the Town of Tewksbury.

The ice storm of November 27, 28 and 29, 1921 was reportedly one of the most disastrous on record.   The work required to restore service was such that some areas didn't have power until the middle of January, 1922.   The Lowell Electric Light Corporation reports that power was completely restored to all customers by January 21, 1922.

The Tewksbury Historical Commission created this pamphlet in 1976 for the Bicentennial Celebration.   The document is in part a tour guide to historic properties throughout the town. 

Included is a copy of an enlistment paper for Tewksbury resident Benjamin Saunders.  On September 12, 1777, Mr. Saunders volunteered three years of his life to serve as a soldier in the Continental Army.

The "History of Tewksbury" was written in 1888 by Rev. Edward W. Pride, pastor of the First Baptist Church in North Tewksbury.  This seventy three page book explains how Tewksbury was created and has chapters on the Revolution, Civil War, the church, schools, natural history, and slavery.

The "History of Middlesex County, Massachusetts with Biographical Sketches of many of its Pioneers and Prominent Men" was written under the supervision of D. Hamilton Hurd in 1890.  

Volume Three includes a brief chapter on Tewksbury history that was written by Leonard Huntress and J.C. Kittredge.

The "Tewksbury Vital Records" contains all Birth, Marriages, and Death records until the end of the year 1849. 

A footnote indicates that the original book of records covering the period from 1829 to 1844 was destroyed by fire and that some records may be unavailable.

This twenty eight page pamphlet contains the history of the Tewksbury Baptist Church and is a program for the One Hundred and Twenty Fifth Anniversary Celebration of the church.  The event was held on Sunday, September 29th 1968.

The two volume "History of Middlesex County" was written by Samuel Adams Drake in 1890.  

Volume One includes a brief chapter on Billerica history that was written by Frederick P. Hill.

Tewksbury was once part of Billerica and our shared history offers further insight into the creation of our town.
