The Tewksbury Historical Society will have a presentation by long time Wilmington/Tewksbury resident Gerry O"Rielly on "South Tewksbury". Mr. O’Rielly put together a very informative and entertaining presentation several years ago and has agreed to come and present a book he has been writing about the area he grew up in.  His front door was in Wilmington and his back door was in Tewksbury.  The program will start at 7:00pm on February 26th at the Tewksbury Senior Citizens Drop-in Center at 175 Chandler Street in Tewksbury.

The Tewksbury Historical Society is 10 years old. The Tewksbury Historical Society is a non-profit organization with a mission of preserving and documenting the history of Tewksbury. The organization has received several monetary donations in the past 10 years which are now in the Society’s Building and Acquisition Fund. They have also accepted several large collections of photographs and several collections of Tewksbury artifacts. These have been used in several shows in the past several years.

The Society will be holding another open membership meeting on March 27, 2004 entitled "The West School".  Georgia Ruckledge will present with help from some former students of the West School.  It will be held at the Tewksbury Town Library at 1:00pm.

On April 29, 2004, Keith Rauseo will present a program on "General Ames" starting at 7:00pm at the Tewksbury Public Library.

The Society is always welcoming new members. Membership is open to citizens and friends of Tewksbury. The Society has several newsletters a year and 3-4 open membership meetings each year. People may join by emailing Sandra Mouser at tewksburyhistorical@comcast.com or by calling her at 978-851-4966. You may write for a membership application to Tewksbury Historical Society, P.O. Box 522, Tewksbury, Ma. 01876. We have a website containing membership applications, historical documents, and pictures. It is tewksburyhistoricalsociety.org and we look forward to new members joining and being active at whatever level they wish to be.
